About this tennis court
NSTE Tennis Academy is a tennis academy in George Town, Penang , founded by Nikesh Singh Panthlia, a former Davis Cup competitor with 15 years on the professional circuit. It trains at the Maple Gold Recreation Centre on Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah, on an outdoor hard court with parking on site, for children from 5 years old through to juniors and adults of every level. Few academies list as many programmes: age-based Kids & Juniors classes, Adults Group Classes for complete beginners to advanced players, private and semi-private lessons, school holiday camps and clinics, a School Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) programme, corporate team building and a Tennis Retreat Holiday in Penang and Kuala Lumpur. Ambitious juniors can join the High-Performance Junior Pathway aimed at ITF, ATF, ATP and WTA events, with advanced technical and tactical work, strength and conditioning, mental resilience, performance analysis and tournament preparation. Reviewers name the owner, Coach Nick, alongside Dinesh, Don, Gagan and Sky in the certified coaching team. Students say the coaches break down grip, footwork and swing path clearly, and build fitness, mental toughness and match strategy into lessons, with progress tracked along the way. Holidaymakers looking for tennis lessons in Penang often book a week or more of sessions, and the academy also organises social games for players who want to meet others. With a 4.9/5.0 rating from 82 players and parents, NSTE Tennis Academy is ranked by Seek Sports among the top tennis spots in George Town. Patient, skilled coaches who keep lessons fun are the most common praise.
